Has anyone compared laundry carts from R&B and the laundry cart company? The laundry cart company seem to have a good price.

I know what you mean. I saw the laundry cart companies carts at clean and they look pretty good, especially for the money. I do know that the laundry cart company imports the carts from China. But how is that much different from all the foreign electronics and god knows what else on these "american made" washing machines and dryers we pay through the nose for from our domestic manufacturers (ie: speed queen, Dexter, GE, whirlpool)? I will tell you something that R&B has pulled on their loyal customers. I thought I could order the new bigger casters for my existing R&B 5 inch wheeled carts. But nooooooooo! The good people at R&B have made the new and better casters to only fit the newest carts by changing the legs from square stock to a round stock. So the only way you can use the lateset wheels is to buy new carts! When the local boys screw us like that it makes the Chinese not look so bad. I am going to try to make an adapter for these new wheels and use them anyway.

I have been using R&B wire carts in my laundry since I purchased it in 1984. The previous owner used them as well. I have had no major problems with them other than normal wear and tear.I have called and talked with representatives of R&B wire products before and I called them again today when I read the reply just before mine.I can assure you the change in design of their carts was not to take advantage of any store owners so they would be forced to upgrade.

I believe in buying American and would urge you to call R&B Wire products and get any questions you may have answered. Their phone # is 714-549-3355.

Dear Mr. Huston, I couldn't help but notice your coments regarding R&B casters and laundry carts. I would like to try to help you with your situation if possible. I think a little background would be helpful. About 7 years ago we redesigned our laundry carts to use a 4" caster instead of a 2 1/4" caster. With this improvement we needed to use a larger 7/8" round tubular cart. We tested a prototype 4" caster with the smaller square stem, for upgrading our older carts, but found that the smaller square stem with the larger caster was not durable enough to take the abuse dished out in coin laundries. Please note that all of our casters are rigorously tested on a special machine prior to introduction. In fact the majority of the cost in our cart is in the caster as it is the only moving part. As you have noted, we still do provide repacement casters for all of our old carts, even those up to 20 years old and all of our products including the casters are guaranteed for 3 years. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you directly and see if we can provide you with some suggestions. Please call me, Rick Rawlins, at (800) 634-0555. Regarding imported Chinese laundry carts; We have also reviewed the different versions of the chinese-made carts and we too could easily provide a cheaper product of similar quality. In our personal (and admittedly biased)view our carts will provide a significantly greater return for your investment than others that have been offered. We believe that quality carts such as yours that have lasted you atleast 7 years, and probably more, are the appropriate value for the coin laundry industry. In fact, we have many customers that have gotten over 20 years of use out of our products. In any event, thanks for hearing me out. I look forward to talking to you directly and again please feel free to give me a call.

Support for a product that is 20 years old - in this day and age that is impressive. I just upgraded to Windows-XP and several of the components in my PC that are 3 years old are no longer supported by the companies that make them. Keep up the good work R&B.

I still believe in R&B carts, don't get me wrong. I don't use anything else in my laundries at this point. But I also know that companies have to make money.I still think that the large castor could have been made adabtable to the older cart and would have presented the laundry owner with a great up grade option for not so much money. I am replacing my older carts that have worn castors with new smaller ones and I wish I could use the larger ones. I cannot because the design was changed. Everybody can draw their own conclusions as to why.

I can say that the thieves who steal carts prefer the R& B carts to the china ones.

Hands down to R&B!

I had a big castor wheel peel recently, and did not know of the 3 yr waranty... but I bt a bunch of carts at clean '01 and you threw in wheels,, thanks! I'll call it even for now.

Actually I have 4 older R&B carts that needed new castors, I called R&B to buy the replacement parts and discovered that the parts they sent not only wouldn't fit, but they no longer stock the part that I need, fortunately I discovered a firm in NY that had a castor that would fit. I ended up buying 2 more R&R carts news but I have to tell you I was disappointed that I could not get castors from R&RB for the carts that were otherwise in very good shape. I'm not at the laundromat at the moment but if anyone needs the name of the NY company I'll look it up and post it in a few days

This message is for the R&B guys. I too love my carts except for the really poor chrome job on the cart frame. I usually get rust spots after about a year and I'm in upstate New York, NOT near any sea water. After two to three years the rust is really offensive. So my question is... does R&B provide any sort of re-chroming service for the lower frame? Thanks for your time. Bill
