How can we increase traffic??

I have a brand new store located within walking distance from 10 that's right 10 apartment complexes. Traffic has been slow to start but has picked up some. There are two old stores in area one with very old equipment, you know the type with 25yr single pocket dryers! I have had a few of their customers say they saw the sign and love the new store look and feel. My prices are the same and my location is far cleaner but how can I get more visibility?????

Are you expecting a magic answer? Obviously advertising (door hangers, give-aways, ads in newspapers or local directories, etc.) would help, but in my experience a good sign, clean store and word-of-mouth is the best. Good luck.

one of my store is an old store with 33 years old single dryers,I have a lot traffic :-)
Is your store fully attendant?
You have to see what you can offer different than others,like TV,large machines, large sign,free coffee,games......

Good points! We have all frontload wascomat equip 12 20lbs, 12 30lbs 4 40lb and 2, 55lb 14 TD30x30 Stacks. Discussing the TV idea with my husband. We are going to have an attendant full time but want to see more traffic and some WDF business to justify the cost. The place is spotless and we get lots of compliments on how clean it is. We passed out flyers to all the local apt buildings. I guess it will just take time for the word to get out.
