I am looking to add some larger capacity machines to my mat. I have one Milnor and so far so good. I have heard both good and bad about them, mainly they are costly and difficult to maintain. I plan on doing most of the work myself. I am open to suggestions as to what makes are easier and less costly to maintain. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

I've got 50# and 75# capacity Wascomats that work great and are easy to work on, in the rare case they need working on.

I have 2 50# Wascomats from 1980 and both are still running great. They are some of my best money makers. The coin boxes have always got lots of coins compared to 1/2 the amount in the 2 35# machines.

I have had Wascomat Gen 4's for over 15 years. Real workhorses. I cannot comment on Gen 5 or 6 although I do not believe they stand-up in a comparison to the 4's. I have done alot of research and Dexter appears to make an excellent front load/large capacity machine. Good Luck.

I have one 50# Dexter (T-900) that has been in service for 1.5 years now. It is the most often used machine in my store. I have had no problems with it. I want to add to more large machines in the near future. As of right now they will be Dexter T-900. I have also had good luck with my 35# Dexter machines.

One note: Dexter is the only machines I have experience with.

Thanks for your help. I did some research and it seems that Wasco and Dexter are the top 2 sellers. I am considering a rebuilt gen 4 wasco 50 pound. Are the 124 wasco's smaller than most other 35 pound machines? For some reason the tub seems smaller inside. Thanks

The 124 is rated as a 30# machine. The 125's are a 35# machine.

On the other hand, Milnors have fantasitc curb appeal. When people talk about big machines, they invariably describe a Milnor. The only other machine that gives a great "big" impression is Continental.

Can anyone comment on how well Continental is doing in your stores?

I've got a couple of Wasco W245 75# machines, and anyone that comes in my store says, "WOW those are the biggest machines I've ever seen!"

I have an 80 lb Speed queen that we call "the monster" it is the largest public washing machine in our county and I tell people that. I put both my kids in it for a great christmas card this year! Made a great card. It is big, vends for 8 bucks and turns 5.5 times a day. I think it is a great machine.
