I'm on vacation down in Belize (central america) and spotted a laundry so I thought I'd check it out. 10 tops and 10 regular residential dryers. Pay at the counter for self serve but most is drop off. He had never heard of a front loader and questioned weather it would wash clothes with so little water. This seemed funny to me since they have no fresh water supply here and catch rain water for most everything.

He asked lots of questions and was suprised by the size and capacity of modern commercial washers. He practally fainted when we broached the topic of price. He only charges $3.50 Belize money for a full load of wash and dry. They go by machine capacity stuffed full, not by weight. Belize currancy is valued at 50% of US dollars so he is only getting $1.25 for and entire load wash,dry and folded.

I don't think there is any oppurtunity down here for the mat biz LOL

I checked out the resorts laundry too. 1 big old Milnor and some crappy old residential dryers. I guess I forgot I was on vacation. Finding it hard to relax with a million things to do back home with my buildout. I don't know what my wife was thinking dragging me away when I'm so busy. When i replaced my washers with new ones the distrubtor bought my old 17 year old Speed Queens 40# . I asked him what he was going to do with the old junk He said sell it in Mexico. They pay the repair people only a few dollars an hour to keep it going so they will buy older stuff and use it forever.
I guess he was right .

When I was in Hong Kong,Taiwan,I was checking out laundromats there since space and the laber cost,they have new IPSO,Dexter,ADC in their laundromats,full service only in Hong Kong,didn't see any coin op store.

Yea, I started my new job in DC, and right by the metro is a laundromat... everyday I drive by and stare inside as if it were a naked woman. I need my head examined.
