Yesterday I took the front panels off all my single load Heubsch dryers to clean out the accumulated lint. I managed to find $64 in mostly coin, and a few dollar bills, but that's a job that is no fun at all.

I have one of those magnets on a stick (mechanics use for getting dropped screws etc), and have fished under all my machines, and have come out a fair number of bucks ahead regularly. This only works on Canadian coins of course.

I pick up every coin I see in my laundomat, and put them in a container. I probably average $3 per day. That's about $1,000 per year! It is amazing how many customers will leave all of their pennies, nickels and dimes on the machines or folding tables, after rummaging through their pockets for quarters! We also find plenty of coins in the washers and dryer lint drawers. Best find so far was a $20 bill in a lint drawer.

i usually can average around $200 plus a month from the drain pans back there keeping the lint out of the drain, might as well make some extra.

A new record today - we found $163.00 cash in a wash-dry-fold customer's pocket. We sealed it in a envelope and packed it with the customer's clothes with a note saying it was found in a pocket. Hopefully we have increased loyalty from this particular customer! (She is always a great tipper anyways- she prepaid $20 for a $10 load today - without knowing about the cash in the pocket).
