Has anyone been experiencing PWS and Alliance laundramats being put up very close to established existing laundramats in your area? If anyone has, is there something that can be done to curb their appetite to put existing laundramats out of business?

PWS seems to be building in large cities other than Los Angeles where they first started out. I think the're building across the nation because Los Angeles is already so saturated with mats that practically every block has one. And also property and rent is so high that I think its difficult to start a new mat in Los Angeles. So my guess is that PWS will probably start building new stores in the larger cities across the nation.

So what city do you see this happening too? Is PWS building a new store next to yours?

Big stores over built in a lot large cities that is nothing you can do about that, not only PWS,amost every dealers will like put as many stores as they can,you can try to get newer machines, better service......the store owers owe too much money,no good parking, too much rent are the stores will go under.Check the back of Joural, more and more used machines or out of business store, machines for sale.

the problem the way i see it is a conflict of interest. In many areas you are forced to buy from the local distributor such as PWS or Allinace and then two blocks down they will open a store from you. Consider not buying equipment and or supplies from companies who are also in the coin laundry business. They are not in the business of running these stores only build and sell. Also avoid listing with PWS and like companies. I tried to buy in CA using PWS, but had poor service and were dishonest in many circumstances from when I would call to ask if something was available they would say yes, but the same day I would want to write an offer all of the sudden it was sold. Love my coin laundry in AZ. Anyone selling in AZ would love to own a few more???

PWS is building stores all over our area too. Some people are buying them from California and moveing here to run them. I think they most are overpriced and wont do very well. The way to stop them from building more is for people to stop buying them. Most will sell a few times in the next few years as people see the numbers dont come true.

Is the "Alliance" you are talking about the maker of Speed Queen/Huebsch? They are building mats??

I don't think that Alliance makes the machines. Speedqueen makes then and Alliance is the built in financing company that funds the purchace of machines bought through a local distributer. They are in the buisness of funding equipment, not entire laundry facilities. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
