I was wondering if anyone pays more for sewer discharge then the actual water usage?

This month i am paying 151 for water and 223 for discharge of water.

When i talk to the h2o company they say its because they have to treat the discharged water, which ok i agree but more then the actual cost of the water. They also say that I discharge 95% of water.

Any thoughts?

If you could negotiate on the discharge, it might be worth it. I don't know shine from shitola, but don't you evaporate a significant percentage of wash water through your dryers?

most places charge more for sewer than for water.
my sewer is 25% higher than my water, but double is possible some places.

very few places discount anything significant for evaporation

My sewer cost is double of what the water costs. It sucks, but you have to pay it. Good luck trying to get an evaporation allowance.

My issue started when the H2O company decided to raise the water rates ( Includes sewer) 50% -3 months after I opened my laundromat. I went in front of the board with a detailed report on how much the clothes weighed dry and how much they weighed after coming out of the washing machines. I then informed them that I actually use another natural resource called gas to dry these items and that I should not be paying for every drop of water going out. After a pretty heated conversation I also informed them that I consider myself a partner in their company since they need my "dirty" water to treat their Sewage. If my laundromat was not around they would have to use clean treated water to treat their sewage. Well they thought about it and granted me a reduction in my sewer rates. Just stick to your guns and let them know that you are concerned and want to work with them and hopefully they will "see"

I pay 3.2 times water for sewer bill. Just raise your vend prices, your customers pay these bills, not you!
