In order to boost up the wash&fold business, how about giving free laundry bag to wash&fold customers?

Thanks,

The best way to develop your drop off business is by doing excellent quality work. Make sure each laundry is done with consistant quality. It takes a time to develop, but word of mouth recommendations is your best advertisement. Giving out freebies isn't going to help you much.

I give all my WDF customers a free bag/s as part of the service but at the moment they are just large plastic bags which are relatively cheap by the roll anyway. I sell them for 20c each to customers who do their own wash (they cost me about 10c each).

I am toying with the idea of having some recycle friendly woven bags with handles etc similar to the type that grocery stores use made up with my business name and colors on them. I would use the same approach - free to WDF customers but maybe give my regular DIY customers free bags as well.

The pros for this are free advertising, customer loyalty and an enviro friendly system (which I would highlight in my promotions)

The cons are cost, size (not as big as plastic bags) and perhaps a worry that some customers would not like to bring dirty washing in the bags and have their clean washing placed back in them.

Any comments / suggestions?

If you can get the eco bags at a decent price, I say do it. I buy large colorful nylon bags for about $2-3 (US), so I would think the eco bags would be about $5...could get pricey. I sell alot more of my plastic bags (at 50 cents) than I do of my nylon bags, which I retail for $4.

when you do the customer's laundry you include the bag in the wash so it will be clean for the clean clothes.
