Whats the deal with Dexter Stacks and their Fenwall ignition box, My dryers are 3 1/2 years old and I have changed so many of them. I started putting in synetek controls now. Has anyone used these synteks and are they any good? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I've never used the synteks, but have heard from others that they are good. I have the ram ignitions (came in the Heubsch dryers) and they are reliable.

I bought maybe over 50-60 Syneteks(they also sold under the name Gemit in Summit),I installed the 24V one in Dexter,110v one in SQ for my own store and some customers.
SYNETEKS IS NOT ANY BETTER THAN FENWALL,IT SUCKS!
Synetek is much cheaper than Fenwall, they made a direct replacement to replace Fenwall in Dexter, they have quality and supplier control issues,I bought the 2 for my Dexter many years ago, they were not direct replacement ,need adapter but worked great,so I bought 2 boxes full of them,ALMOST EVERYONE FAILED IN A FEW MONTHS TO 2 YEARS,THE SAME PARTS!I asked Syneteks for replacement, send the broken one and some new one never install back ,they send back replacement and bill me,the replacement fail anyway.......Synetek told me I didn't set the spark gap right cause the fail,so I asked other servicemen, they had the same issues.Synetek even made some had wrong or bad quality probe ,those didn't work from the day one.
If you want to try them,I will suggest you buy one or 2 at time, maybe they are getting better,I stop using them 2,3 years ago.
RAM is still the best but they don't make direct replacement for Dexter, you have to buy a 24V RAM and add an adapter.Synetek told me the owner, some techs and some employees worked for RAM for years, until RAM move the factory to other country.

DITTO.....on the syneteks...... they don't hold up and the company doesn't honor their warranty ! They cost me a lot of money in return service calls where Syneteks had to be replaced with Rams. They cost me and my customers, Lost money, time, and aggrevation !

You need an adapter to fit 24v RAM to Fanwall just just cut the wired.
Syneteck used to have those adapter,I don't know if they will sell it without buy their igniter box.
I build the adapter myself,if you know the pinout,it is easy, take 10-15 mins, take longer to get all the tools, parts together :-)
