If you look at other businesses or corporations, they usually compare YTD business on a monthy/quarterly basis rather that this particular day or week. Hoildays, weekends, and people's pay periods all play into when and how much they usually do in laundry. There are exceptions to the rule but I try to look at the numbers on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
I also take into consideration when another competitor closed or opened. If that has happened a more accurate measure would be a 3-4 year avg. For example. Year one up 10%. Year 2 competitor closes-up 20% Year 3 competitor reopens- down 10%. In this example the business would still up 10% on avg on a 3 year avg.

I was worried for a while, my sales were way down, but I figured it was because of christmas shopping and all the hectic days of the holidays.
I made up for it on the 26th, my sales were very healthy and as I originally thought, peoples clothes still get dirty whether is Christmas or not. How about you?

Compare year ,month are the right way to go,compare week to week will drive you crazy!
Winter, near Xmas are the slow time for laundry business. We have to pay heat in winter and about 25% customers go back to Maxico.
I have a small whole sale/retail business,Xmas is the busiest time for the reatail business.I had not stopped by my laundromats for 3 weeks .
This is going to happen every year ,you will be used to this next year!
