I am new to this board, but not the biz. (20 yrs)
my water and sewer rates have been increasing over the past 2 years. I would be interested what other coin laundries are paying for water and sewer rates. I am now paying in one location a penny a gallon, $7.59 per 100 cu.ft or $5.46 for water and $4.68 for sewer per 1,000 gal.
I am trying to get data to fight city hall.

my meter is billed in 1000s of gallons
$1.65 water
$1.86 sewer
$3.51/thousand gallons total

by the gallon the total is a little more than one third of once cent.

I expect a sizable increase "any day now" when construction starts on a new waste treatment plant.

Price for a hundred cubic feet:

water = $0.358
sewer = $0.874

total = $1.23

BUT, water has a $34.40 "customer service charge" and sewer has a $4.26 "monthly service charge". Thanks for making me look closely at my bill. I just called and asked why my "customer service charge" is so high. They said it is because I have a 2 inch water meter. I explained that I only have a 1.5 inch line into the building and asked if I could please get a smaller meter. I'm supposed to call back and talk to Tammy later. When I did this to the gas company a while back it turned out they could reduce the fee without changing the meter. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
