Expanding on Dave's thought.... How can I reach the apartments near my store with advertising that works? Direct mail? Door hangers? What works???

Actually I printed up a few flyers with my hours and prices, and when a customer came in from an apartment building that has a laundry room I just asked them to post it in the laundry room. I don't know how long they stay posted before they disappear but once you get a few customers from an apartment building into your store (assuming that it is kept clean and in working order) word of mouth spreads through the building and you pick up a number of new customers. From the discussions I have had with those customers the laundry rooms around here are usually not well kept and theft is a problem so most just keep coming back.
