View Full Version : can't open the ESD coin box with key!!

Yesterday, someone put unknown object into the key hole of my ESD coin box, my key can't fully insert into the key hole, I have tried use hot torch to it, but no luck!! any suggestions??

Drill the crap out of it until you get the box out, and replace it with another

Get a 2 pound hammer and a round point chissel and hit it a few good licks right in the key opening. I had to do this to 10 Dexters dryers years ago. The box will be junk afterward, but you'll get it open. If it won't, get a bigger hammer /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I never had any luck with the hammer method, but the boxes I did were not ESD either. I just kept drilling holes into the face plate, until you can get the box out. (use a good sharp drill bit) I've also used a cutting torch to remove a box. It is by far easier, but damages the paint on the meter case.
