I get alot of parts flyers in the mail from various parts vendors. The prices on some of the parts are tempting. I got one in the mail the other day from an outfit called Summit. I needed some elbi water valve diaphrams and they had them advertised for $1.50 each. I use quite a few of these so I ordered 25. Well they come in and I see that I have been charged $1.75. I call them and they tell me the flyer I got was out of date and the price is really $1.75. The fact is with my order they enclosed the same flyer and there was the same $1.50 price! I know this only amounts to $6.25 but it really got me mad. The guy on the phone was a jerk and would not give me a credit and I told him that I would never order anything from them again. I do not think it would be possible for him to care any less. My problem was I did not make sure and verify the price with these jerks before I ordered, I assumed they would give me their advertised price. These type of vendors feel they have a right to rip you off with the old bait and switch con. They are hustlers. Make sure before you order.

Summit is usually very good, and ships very quickly. I only once had a problem and they quickly corrected it. Call them again and talk to someone else there, I'm sure they will make an adjustment. Don't be so negative on them from your one unfortunate experience - it is quite atypical of them.

We have yet to have a bad experience with Summit. Only once did we not receive an order the next day, and that was because of the ferocious snow storm this winter. The people there are always attentive and knowledgeable. Give em a try. BDS is also pretty good, just not as quick.

Summit was supposed to send us $200 back when we mailed back a part. We mailed the part; they signed for it. We never got the money back despite a number of phone calls and letters. We were basically ignored. Won't deal with them anymore; there are too many others out there

I've never had any problems dealing with Summit. I do like the parts book they put out with the part illustrations, and the fact that they carry parts for the old Wascomats, although sometimes they substitute aftermarket instead of OEM parts.
