I have the CCI system in my new store that is unattended 24/7. The whole store runs off the CCI system including the bathroom door, pool table, air hockey, soap machine, snack machine, soda machine and soon a channel changer for the TV's.

I have no money in the store except for the card dispensers (known as X-Changers)

The CCI system:

Uses mag stripes, not smart cards.
All card readers are networked so all reports are up to date all the time.
Dial in to see how much you have made today, MTD, YTD.
No complicated signs on how to use the system. Just a touch screen that walks the customers through each step.
Dual systems and data bases so if one system goes down, the other takes over automatically.
Easy price changes (seconds....)
It also works as a time clock if you have attendants.
Logs machine problems when a machine is down.

You can visit the CCI website, but I think it is under construction - www.laundrycard.com (http://www.laundrycard.com)

If you have any questions, let me know.

Duane.

The cost is comparable to the ESD smart card and other systems.
I have 53 card readers and 2 X-Changers (card dispensers). Depending on your distribuitor, it should run in the upper $20k to lower $30k for the above installed and ready to go.

Duane,
Card concepts system seems is a "one man" business, how's the warrantly and onward service support in case of the system failure??
as you know if the system die, our laundry will stand still there!! any comment??
By the way, I have 33 washer and 15 dexter stack dryer, so I need about 48 card readers and a X-Changer, can you have your distribuitor quote this for me?? because I talked to my distribuitor at earlier time, they qoute it (w/ installation fee) for about $40k for my laundry /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
thanks anyways!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Think your math may be wrong, sounds more like you need 63 readers, one for each washer and one for each dryer basket.

The problem you address with CCI is a valid concern, they have a great product BUT they seem to be a small outfit and if they fail you have a very large potential problem.

Howard,
Dexter stack dryer only have one coin droper for each stack !! so I think I need only 48 card readers and one X-Changer. thanks anyway /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

CCI is a small company compared to others and Steve is their main contact and project manager. They do have developers and installers. It is a family company and if I remember correctly Steve's dad has built around 300 mats in his time and they own several themselves.

So far I have had one system disk start to go bad and the system switched to the backup system and everything worked as designed. CCI then sent me a new system and I did the swap out (10 min) and they dialed in to check everything out. So far their service has been excellent. I also had a card reader go bad and I swapped it with a spare I keep on site. They had a new one to me the next day.

A brief description of their warranty:
2 years of equipment
3 years on computer, cabinet and cables

I'll check with my distribuitor to see if they are allowed to quote the CCI system out of their area. Where are you located?

Duane.

I've got an Easycard system. I am very pleased with it and have had zero problems with it in the roughly three years I've had it. Whether you go with CCI, Dexter or someone else you just must be concerned that the company will be around for support. I am naturally more concerned about a small company lasting, but big companies fail too (World Comm, Enron, LTV, etc...)

Howard,

I still have 5000 shares of LTV if you are interested!

The disk problem I had was a system from Dell. The same problem could happen to any card system so I really discount it as a CCI problem, but I mention it because of the way the CCI system is set up and how they fixed the problem so quickley.

I also love Dell. I currently have 6 of their systems.

I am not too worried about CCI being a new and small company. Most of the items are off the shelf and all the applications are famliar to me. There are a few small executables that I would probably need a copy of the code if I needed to support the system myself. That is if something happened to CCI.

I would suggest you have a raffel at the laundromat for those shares /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
