Hey there - what types of promotions have any of you done in your laundry to bring people in? We've just started to have live bands play in our laundry on Saturday nights and the turnout has been great. People come in during the performance to do their laundry, and people that don't bring laundry in during the performance have started bringing their laundry for us to do, or to do themselves during the week.

For the acts, we do not pay them to play - and we do not charge a cover charge at all. The band is allowed to "pass a hat" and we also have a collection bucket that people can donate money to our "cause of the month" - this month's cause is "Child Abuse Prevention." All of the proceeds from the "Cause Bucket" go to the cause of the month on a monthly basis.

I just wanted to pass this unusual "tidbit" of laundromat happenings onto all of you fellow laundry owners. Cheers!

Jammin' at the mat - cool. Where in the world do you find bands that will play for free? You may consider adding a Jam Night, where musicians can show up to set in on a few songs. All you need then is a liqour license. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
