dx398,

Well, isn't that interesting? On the one hand, I tend to think this is a fake because the coins appear to be in 20 and 100 Amero denominations. This type denomination would appeal to collectors only and would be useless in a laundromat. Of course, I'm assuming that 1 Amero would be worth approximately the equivilent of 1 Euro or 1 current U.S. dollar.

Another clue that these Amero coins are fake is the fact that both denominations (20 and 100) appear to be the same diameter. Good luck using them if you happen to be blind.

On the other hand, maybe there is something to this as, for the first time in my life, the Canadian dollar is now worth the same as the U.S. dollar. Coincidence or part of government's secret master plan?

I would settle for coin drops that take both quarters and presidential dollars on Milnor and Dexter

DuboisLaundry,

I encourage all coin laundry owners to begin experimenting with their quarter coin drops. Remove one from your washer and remove the face plate so that the slot does not restrict access to the drop. Then try inserting a dollar coin and see where it stops. Make adjustments until it will accept the dollar coin. Be careful that you don't change anything that cannot be changed back for quarter acceptance if you plan to use the drop that way.

The above exercise will help you to better understand how your coin drops work and how they reject improper coins. When you are ready to convert to using dollar coins, you will have a pretty good idea of how to convert your existing quarter coin drops without buying all new dollar coin drops.

I converted my Huebsch washers from quarters to dollar coins almost 3 years ago. They were extremely easy to convert. I converted my Dexter T300 washers from quarters to dollar coins about 2 years ago. They were about twice as difficult as converting the Huebsch washers. I have no regrets.
