Last month I replaced 4 18lb Gen 4 Wascos with New 18lb Dexters. These machines oversuds so easy. Water comes out of the top and you even get water in the coin box. I never had this problem with my old wascos. Seems like a poor design. Also I did check the machine for proper rotation. Does anyone else find this happening with their dexters?

I have 20 Dexter washers and this has happened occasionally. In my case it's usually caused by the customer using too much soap. I don't have any 18lb Dexters but I don't think it should matter. I put signs up telling them to watch the soap use and only have a problem once in a while now. Usually with someone who doesn't speak English.

If a Wasco oversuds, you have a problem that needs serviced, but add 25# Speed Queens to the list of equipment that WILL oversuds if too much detergent is used.

Yeah, sure! I have washers from three different manufacturers, including Wascomat, and they all oversuds at times also.

YOUR WASCO'S HAVE RESTRICTORS ON THE SOAP BOX INJECTION. THE DEXTERS DO NOT.
TRY REDUCING YOUR WATER PRESSURE.

Its almost impossible to have soap suds come out the soap dish on a Wasco as the soap dish drains in to the dump valve, so you have a head of water precluding that.

Kirby, your right on the Gen 5s, but the Gen 6s now drain in the top center of the tub. I like the Gen 5s on this issue. The Gen 6s never soap up through the box either though, the soap drain hose travels through the vacumn brake and the soap can not come back up. Both are excellent designs and what you should expect from the best frontloaders in the business. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rondo, thanks for the clarification on the Gen6 - that is nice to know. I was told they also have a baffle in the outer drum that limits stuff from getting kicked up in that direction.
