I'm sure this is a dumb question for all you long time mat owners but...
A customer left a full load of clothes in a machine, I put them in a cart to free up the machine. Later I dried the load and put it in a clear bag up on the bulkhead near the machine they were in. The clothes have been there for a week now.
How long do I have to keep them?
What does everyone else do? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Bag them, put a tag on them (date and type of machine), put it somewhere we you have avaialble space. Keep them for a couple of weeks. If not picked up, give to Salvation Army/Goodwill. Save your money - don't dry them unless you really know whose they are. That way you can be assured to get your money back. If you don't know them, you can be out the money especially if they say "I did not want them dried, I'm not paying for it". Good luck.

I leave them in a cart for 1 week. The animals usually steal a little clothes out of it every day. At the end of the week it goes in the garbage. If customers comes back after that I say I didn't find any clothes.

Folded, bagged, tagged... Wait 30 days... Pick thru for the best stuff, the rest goes to Goodwill for a donation receipt...

We do the same - bag, tag /30 days. Drop off laundry is different than clothes left behind, as there is a state law that requires you to keep the order for a certain period of time. If in doubt as to the time period, ask your local professional drycleaner.

We bag em, put the date and machine number on the bag and put them out front near the office. After 30 days pick through anything that's good and give them to Goodwill or the Salvation army. I have a notice stating that policy outside the office door.
