Sure sounds cheap to me. Mine for water plus sewer comes in at about $19.50 per 1,000 - yes that is almost 2 cents per gallon. Thank you corrupt NJ politicians.
I bet they pay a lot less for water in the desert!!!

Larry,
Has the lowest water prices and the highest vend prices. I knew Larry was smart. I don't understand how everyone pays these high prices and have low vend prices.

After I had my mat for about 6 months I had a small leak in a copper pipe. Called plumber and he's checking everything out and finally says "How long have you had the bypass on the water meter?"
Since I called him for a pretty simple fix, it was clear to him that I hadn't installed it, but he was obligated to turn me in. Water bills promptly went up about 200%.

.
with water varrying 4.00 to 19.00 per 1000 vend prices will be higher to cover higher cost. So newbies need to take into consideration the difference when looking at this board and what we price our machines at. For illustration my store at 4,00 X 226000 gallons = 904.00 the mat at 19.00X 226000 =4294.00 Which leads us to 3390.00 difference in bottom line. WOW WOW something to consider.

BODMAN, your store uses 226 thousand gallons per month?

Bodman,
You are correct there is a huge difference in water rates but i I never see a huge difference in vend prices. I still wonder how some mats survive with high water rates and rent. Maybe some owners are happy with low ROI. Years ago it was common for many mats to make a 40%+ return. Now I see people buying mats with a 20% return and are happy.

Sorry Larry, We are at 3.74 per 1000 water and sewer together and that is with a 9% increase in sewer this month. Get another 9.5 % in July. Gas is what kills me.

Los Angeles County - California Water Service Company:
2008's increase was 3.3% to $2.3377 per CCF. 1 CCF is 100 cubic feet or 748 gallons.
All that said, here's the conversion into 1000 gallons for consistency: $3.125 per 1000 gallons. Now that excludes about 4 fees and local taxes. All inclusive we're talking more like $4.19 per 1000 gallons.
You might be asking yourself, Los Angeles? The same Los Angeles that leaches it's water from the Colorado River? Yep, the same. Don't tell the politicians!
Now Natural Gas is a whole other story! Just raised the dryers...25 cents now gets you 7 mins dry time on my 30lb ADC stacks.

Ecowash,
Just to clarify, your $4.19 per 1,000 gals includes all fees but does it include the sewage charges? Posts in this thread are water, sewer, taxes and fees combined (whenever possible).

Interestingly, I pay about $5.60/1000 gallons here in NJ. I'm about 15 miles from Howard, and probably draw water from the same aquifers! (But different politicians.)

i would love to, there only few yrs old. We will see how they do when i raise prices...
My water costs are a lot lower then most of yours and we get less rain than just about anybody in the country. Its kinda funny how that works. Our sewer charges is a flat rate charge of 100.00 per machine per year.
