Thought I would post a tip. I have all self serve l'mats, and if something breaks people leave an out of order sign and thier address and phone. I only call them if I can't figure out a problem, or I think they mis-used a machine and need to learn how to use it, so I walk them thru it on the phone. Anyway, someone looses 1.25 or 1.50, or an odd amount, I send a bill plus us postal stamps for the change amount. Am always over on value a little, but you can't send change thru the mail anymore without a special envelope. People seem to like the stamps, a few have sent me back thank you cards! I always refund a problem, even if it is the customer's fault. I also include extra if they called me from a pay phone at the laundrymat when they had the problem so they are not out .35 for the phone call. I round up alot also, say send $2.00 if they loose 1.75. I do not advertise, so this is my way of doing it.
