I am in the process of writing my business plan. Where do I go to do my research? For example: demographics, statistics, etc. Is there someone/place in the industry that I can get help with this? Does anyone know where I can find a sample business plan specifically for a laundromat?

I also have a sample proforma spreadsheet that you can use to determine the break even point for your proposed mat. It is basic, but if you have any spreadsheet skills you can can easily modify it to suit your mat.

Are you a CLA member yet? If you are interested in getting into the laundry business than I highly suggest you become a member. The information you get from the CLA is worth the cost. The CLA will put you in contact with all your local distribuitors, and they can help with many of your questions.

Demographics... Search online and you should be able to find some companies that sell this information. I can't find my copy of my survey, but I'll let you know the name of the company if I find it. A distributior can also do the survey for free, but sometimes they require a deposit to make sure you are commited. A survey is a benefit for a business plan, but just getting out in the area and talking to local business owners and customers will greatly help you get an insight of the customer base in the area.

Found it.... Claritis is the company that does demographic surveys. Search online with them. Also check with the CLA, they might have a good contact.
