Best way to do a direct mailing ?

I really want to do a postcard direct mailing in my area. I talked to people in the bulk mail department at our local bulk mail center and they were very little help in the "how to" department, other than telling me about various fees that total up to $360 to reduce the postage price and that i need individual addresses as opposed to saying put one in every box in this zip code.

I would like to know:
-best place to get a mailing list without "breaking the bank"
- once you got a mailing list, did you address the cards yourself, or use one of the online companies that will do it for you and mail them out.

breeze, The best idea I ever heard for that type of thing was to talk to your local pizza parlor. Have them staple a flier onto each pizza delivery box.
