Carlo,

If you wanted a Commercial Laundry, why did you open a laundromat? Just wondering.

3.67? Where can I get some of that cheap gas...CT is still over $4.00 a gallon!

Keep in mind when your downtime is. If you have a busy mat and you've committed to washing commercial accounts with a promised delivery date, you may get stuck being there at odd hours to meet your commitments.

Trying to do the same thing with our attended stores. My ultimate goal is to run 24/7. 7am - 10pm self serve and 10pm to 7am commercial.

What has worked for us - My wife and I used our knowledge of other businesses and what we like as consumers to focus our marketing. My wife loves spas and salons. We started marketing to these and my wife could speak from what she knew. We offered to create custom scented detergents and softners so our customers clients could associate the smell with the business. We've also linked into a well off segment of consumers by offering hand ironing of sheets, clothes, etc... They really appreciate it. We're taking that to the next level by offering holiday services for napkins, placemats, and table clothes. We're finding these folks really appreciate the hand ironing result and are referring friends left and right.

1) Get Ron Lane's "Selling Comerical Accounts" CD from CLA
2) Join you local business association and or chamber, go to every meeting and network.
3) Network with all of your friends and business neighbours.
4) Get in your car and drive. Get on the phone and call.

Rember that it may not pay off today most of my commerical accounts I got from sales calles came after several months after I called them. They rembured me when they had a need and they wanted to deal with an owner so they calleed ne back.

Buy the way I do 80% of my commerical work between 6 AM and Noon Monday through Friday when my laundry in least used and we are rarly in the eway od customers.

Good Luck
