Hi all,

Do you do check-up and maintenance for water heater storage(holding) tank?
Some mannual says holding tank needs to be check-up evey year, inside of tank, need to replace if ana-rod(?) is short ( which is self sacrified rod located inside of tank to prevent or reduce the rusting of tank..something like that), and re-lining if needed, etc...??
or just use continue without any check-up/maint. until broke(leak, crack, hole, etc)?

Thanks, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

hithere,

In theory, inspecting and replacing the anode rod on a regular basis should extend the life of a tank. As a practical matter, nobody does that. Most of us simply replace the tank when it starts developing leaks. Are you still playing around wtih that same old tank? It's too late to replace its anode rod. The tank is already deteriorated.

Walk by the tank slowly and reverently. Try not to look directly at the tank.. Try not to think about the tank.. Do oil the recirculation pump every 6 months or so...

Take 4 rolls of Duct tape and wrap your tank tight.
