I was wondering if someone can make a living owning a mat in a small town of 5000. ( 40,000 in the county ) We have 3 or 4 of them in bigger towns around and none of them seem to be a "nice" place.

I was thinking of a free standing building. But there are rental places too. OR I might approach the guy who owns the one nearest to me.

I know this varies, but what kind of living can one make with a small place in a small place ?

Here is some food for thought. First are you looking to supplement your income or literally the money from the mat
be your income. Next you need to way out the cost of renting versus owning. Where you plan to rent or build a free
standing building is there a "real" need for a laundromat or do most people have a washer/dryer? It's true if you build it they will come
but the bottom is will enough people come to make some real money. Is your mat going to be self-service and are the surrounding
mats self service or are they staffed. If these mats are very old a new "nice" laundryomat maybe what is needed. Also, read a previous

Generally, people will go to the store that is most convienent to them. Location is everything. I would think that you will need a location with better demographics to turn a profit.
