My first mat (which opens May 14) is four blocks from a small college - 640 students live in the residence halls and another 600 commute to class.

I was thinking about giving away free laundry bags to the freshman class in the fall (about 200 students) with my store name, logo, address and promotional information about WDF and Self Service.

I am curious what the group thinks about this?

The other option is to pass out $5 gift cards printed with the same info (the cost of the bags including printing is just less than $5)

Which would you choose? Why? THANKS!

Self Suds WV,

It should be obvious that the free laundry bags are the way to go. It's something they'll use over and over again. Others will be able to read your store name on the bag too. Just don't try to cram too much info on the bag or it'll look junky.

Gift card to what ... the book store? I don't think so. I once had a Home Depot gift card worth $50 stolen from me ... by an employee of Home Depot. Can you tell I'm not a fan of gift cards?

I think the free laundry bags are a great idea Maybe add a free wash too. It should really help the business if the dorms dont have good laundry rooms.

Does anyone have feedback on the best source for logo laundry bags? I intend to give them out and offer a flat rate for WDF for the students.

Cleaner Supply has a good quality counter bag at $3.15/100 printed and 30"x40" printed bags at $3.85/100. These bags are grommeted and finished nicely. Price is not bad. For lesser quality, try www.bagbiz.com (http://www.bagbiz.com), he's at about $2.75/100 for printed 30"x40" bags. they dothe job, but are notfinished quite as cleanly as the former.
