Guys,
I know I'm supposed to be the dollar coin expert here but this has me stumped. I found a 2008 Sagawea dollar coin today. It looks like it was minted yesterday. Since the mint began turning out presidential dollar coins in 2007, how is it that they made this Sagawea dollar coin in 2008? It doesn't seem possible. This coin is probably worth $100,000 ... right?

So Obama finally came up with a way to make money for the government, mint phony coins. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry Larry.
In 2007 when the started the presidential $1 coins they pretty much shelved the Sacagewa dollar coins. Then they realized they may have pissed off the Native Americans so they passed law that states that 20% of the dollar coins issued should be Sacagewa. They are still minting and releasing out to the public.
Larry, It appears to be true and you are not in posession of a rare coin. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif There is a law for that here (http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/nativeAmerican/Legislation.pdf)

Larry keep your eye out. You never know what you may find. With as many dollar coins as you go through you should be watching out for the Sacagawea Dollar / Washington Quarter "mule" coins. Misprinted in the year 2000. It is a Sacagawea dollar with a Washington quarter stamped on the back. Worth $$$$$ but be careful there are people you make replicas of it.
Good Luck!!!
