I have been looking into opening a new mat in the NYC area. I have a few excellent locations in a dense populated area with competiton far enough away. I have done some research and I find myself wondering, should I pursue the help and advise of the "Middle man" operations (such as Super Laundry) which claim to set you up from soup to nuts with demographics, loan applications and machine vendors, etc OR since I do have a brain, should I contact machine vendors directly and pursue my own start up loan directly, etc?

YOURSELF........the more you know and understand the better off you and your business will be. You can do it, start with your business plan. The content needed for the plan will help you come to understand the business and what is necessary for a successful business.

If you have never done one a middleman is nice to have. As my economics prof said, "You can cut out the middle man but not what he does." You will pay for their services but if you make mistakes on your own you will pay for it anyway.
The memory of a good deal will not outlast the quality of a job well done.
