This is my first post here. Although I do not own or operate my own laundromat, I have a few questions for you. I am a graphic design student in Wisconsin and am currently working on my senior project. It is a comprehensive project where we pick a subject of our choice and apply several applications such as logo design, corporate identity systems, product and packaging, signage, etc. You are probably wondering why I am telling you all this and what my question is. Everyone in the class has to come up with an awareness campaign, product, or business to do all of the previsouly stated things for. Of course our ideas have to be highly innovative and would even be considered a little out there. My idea was a laundromat that included a restaurant/bar with live music and other such entertainment. Also for our project, we have to do a lot of research. I was just wondering what you all thought of the idea. What would be the pros and cons? Would people enjoy such a thing? I know of a few similar places. One being Laundry 101 in Madison, Wisconsin. So have an open mind and let me know what you think of the idea. You can either post here or email me at lca92080@hotmail.com Thanks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The idea seems a bit far fetched. Most people don't like to go do their laundry and even if there was some sort of entertainment how would you really charge/make money for this additional amenity. Keep in mind that washing clothes also requires one to watch there laundry to some degree AND the most important factor, many bring there children with them. I would suggest utilizing space for more of a child play area and or something along the lines of a small food court/internet access area.
