I do not have a change machine in my mat but there is a grocery store next door owen by my brother do you think i loose buisness by not having one thanks

I believe you probably do lose some customers. If you are unattended and a new customer comes in without quarters, they may not feel comfortable going to another business to ask for change. Most businesses do not like to give out change and a lot of customers know this and won't ask.
Put in at least one, but two would be better.

Depending on the size of the mat, you need ATLEAST one. Look at it this way, does the grocery store have change to give back tot the customers, yes, so you need change to give back to the customers. Its my guess you dont have a bag vendor, or soap machine, these are two items also you may want to look into to grow you mat.
Change machine is well worth it in my opinion, just like duane said it may make the customer feel more at home
