Guys,
I just checked out our members list (click on Community and then Members List) and I was amazed at the number of members who apparently read the posts but do not comment at all. Then I came to my name ... I feel like I've been hogging up this board. Sorry guys.
Anyway, to all those members who are currently joining us but not posting, I urge you to offer your opinions on the various topics that are presented here. It's fun. It will help improve your ability to compose sentences and paragraphs. It will get you more involved. It will make you more worldly. It will prevent cancer - uh, well, maybe not that, but it's pretty good. So come on guys, let's all join in.

Larry;
You and all the other deca plus and seasoned posters have great insights. I always am at awe with the perspectives you all have and the experiences you all share.
Thanks for all the advice.
More worldly and cancer free huh! Well if that is what it we receive, then not a bad investment.

Larry,
First of all, you are a hog!
Personally, I have not posted regularly for awhile because of litigation. The litigation arose from the purchase of two laundromats back in 2007. During my deposition, the plaintiffs attorney (NorCalWash) had many questions about my CLA membership. During the trial, the plaintiffs counsel had me read about 20 of my posts. Sarcasm (above comment about Larry) does not translate well in court.
I'm sure NorCalWash (Scott Lewis) is still reading all my posts. They plaintiff was not happy with the jury's verdict & is asking for a new trial
As for posting, I now find it pretty creepy. YOU NEVER KNOW WHO IS READING YOUR POST OR HOW IT WILL COME BACK TO YOU! WHO ARE YOUR CONTACTS & FRIENDS?

Joe,
Wow! I had no idea. Since Scott sued you, I am led to believe that it was some sort of libel suit possibly based on those posts. Since you won your case, I assume that your 20 or so posts were not seen as libelous by the jury in your trial.

Larry,
Scott is the attorney for the Plaintiff (not the plaintiff). The Plaintiff sued me for breach of contract & fraud, I counter-claimed fraud. The jury cleared me of any wrong doing, & found the Plaintiff gulity of Malicous/Intentional Fraud during the esrow of the purchase of two laundromats.
The posts were used to discredit my testomony during the desposition & trial. The 20 or so posts are the posts I orginated, I responded to another 300 posts by other people (like you & others)
The whole process is/was a complete nightmare

There is a lesson in this for all of us... for all who participate in any online forum. Write everything as if you are writing it on a public wall for everybody to read. Write as if writing a letter to the editor of the New York Times. There is a tendency to regard Internet fora as if they were private clubs. They are better regarded as places of public assembly. Write as if the public might be reading your posts. Write as if your whole person is being judged by your readers, based solely on your written words, and quite possibly taken out of context. Yes, it takes some of the fun out of participating in online conversations, but it can save you a whole lot of trouble.
As a start, sign your posts with your real name. If you're writing things you wouldn't sign, you probably should not be writing them at all.

Dave,
No more true statement was ever written.
The internet is littered with Pseudo-named postings, tweets, chats and blogs. If we're going to share our knowledge and comments, we should legitimize them with our real name. Just imagine how impressive it would be if an outsider visited our board for the first time and saw that every thread ... every post was accompanied with a real, live name. This is an idea that could spread and we could start it right here on our BB.

Interesting (and accurate) thread. So much in fact that lawyers, colleges universities, even workplaces are reminding us that we must be aware of what we write / post.
This is even more important to the younger individuals that have facebook, myspace, and twitter accounts.
I don't have any of them and am keeping so busy I hardly have time to check other forums including this one.
Thanks Adamski for both this post and your many other posts your words of wisdom and experience have proven to be invaluable to many of us on this site. Especially for newbs like me.

Larry,
Keep on posting! I benefit from them. And good advise about only writing something down if you are willing to have everyone see.
God sees it all anyway.
