I am a new laundromat owner on Long Island, NY. I am not sure how to price potential commerical accounts. Can anyone give me any hints on what to charge?

Would suggest you call around using the local phone book and price what your competitor's are charging
and what services they provide (or do walk-ins). We charge commerical/business accounts the same price
we charge our walk in customers (75cents per lb. for a regular WDF). We have one account with special
requirements and they provide us additional bleach & softner sheets as part of the contract. As others
reply you'll find prices vary by location.

Thank-you for your input. I agree with calling the local mats near me. My first efforts included high lighting all busssinesses in area which could use our service, next I was thinking of sending an intro leter followed with a visit. What do you think?

What we did was put together a very basic portfolio - meaning we used our digital camera
(and photo printer) to take pictures of our business. We put together basic flyers with a map
from the major roads to our business. We either called or just dropped by various hotels
and spoke with management. Either management met with us or rescheduled us. We give
a 15+ minute overview of what is listed on the flyer which was from how many
machines we have to being handicap friendly to our WDF/DC services. Sending an intro letter
is a good idea as long as one follows up.

We could have listed a kzillion things but didn't want to lose our audience so we broke it down into
two trains of thought. One thought was for out of towner's needs and the other was for what key
items we thought commerical/business/personal accounts would be looking for. We also list these items
on the back of our home made business cards (less the pictures).
-> Highlight address and phone number of two locations
-> Highlight e-mail address
-> Highlight six pictures (inside/out) of the facilty
-> Very basic directions to the facilitys from major thru-ways (not on business cards)
-> Hours/days of availability
THEN state
-> a full service state of the art laundry mat
-> laundry, dry clean and wash, dry & fold services
* friendly onsite attendants to assist you.
*100+ multisized commerical washers and dryers
*large screen tv's
*central heat & a/c
*free complimentary coffee * cookies
* handicap & family friendly
*free parking

-> no job too big or too small
->let our team fulfil all your laundry needs
-> four hour turnaround for wash, dry & fold service
-> Contact owner for any special request

Hope this was helpful.
