After my demographic research in the area I'm considering to develop my project I've found that 75 % of residents have washers but only 8% have dryers.
From a business perpective what kind of reading ( chances) should I have from such data :
No Chances , Some Chances or Good Chances ?
Thx.

Pete,
Don't waste your time! The demo data is obviously flawed, or is Sears having a 75% off washers and double list price on dryers sale.

I want to thank " everyone " for the answers anyway.
I must disclose from the beginning that I'm not from the US and the study results are from the official country statistics center. Now I'm running a research from my own sources and the results are quite the same. May be I should stated the basic data like " area of 7000 Low-Mid income families, living in condos, no mats around, touristic area , bunch of small hotels . I think all that is positive straight foward. Is the washers:dryers ratio that "obviously" calls my attention.
Perhaps the chances are obvious for some , unfortunately not for me .

yea, we were looking for something like that. I am consulting for mats now in an area that has 97% washers, 3% have dryers also. Clue: not the USA
Will a US style mat work? I think so, but for some reasons none exist now, so that issue is being investigated, like I am sure you are thinkng.

Thx Peter for your insights. They're still using the sunshine exposure heat to dry the clothing, believe it or not.
I'm doing my homework and I've a partner in the region that is working also on the issue.
I've realized you're a consultant, so you make a living from advisory. Since I'm working within a tight budget I'm affraid can not afford your services. Any general guidance in this matter would be quite appreciatted.

Kleen, actually I own a few mats and was ASKED to be an advisor for a big project overseas, I was not looking for that, but they want, and need techincal advice and ask me to provide. My money comes from my own mats, the project is long term and may help put gas in my boat!
I would not want to spend time on anyone overseas whom does not have investment capital less than 400,000 US. Takes money to make money.

Absolutely !! Takes money to make money. Please don't take me wrong I'm not asking for your services for free or for special attention or focus into my particular case !!
How I said , I can't afford advisory services.
I just ask for "general guidance" throught this scenario not as a consultant but as a participant of this forum with more experience in the business than me.
Thx.

I am from Romania and most of peoples do not use dryers. Even now when installement selling system for home applyances is on the wave and bigger then never, rarely see someone buyng dryer. Even junkmail contain too litle offers for dryers. If those big dealers of home applyances see no point advertising the dryer I think there is too little room for dryers in peoples customs. At least in my country.
However I think some dryers should be placed in any laundromat, only the ratio would be diferent. For may laundromat I plan no more than 40% of washing capacity to be covered also by dryers.
I have some scenarios why peoples in my country would need to dry their laundry:
1. They need those clothes right away. In this case, an ironer would be usefull too.
2. They have to travel long way to their home and don't want to take wet laundry.
3. It is a rainy day
I think that in 60% of the cases peoples will prefer to spare a few coins and let the sun do the job for free.
I plan to make a survey in the area to make sure of that.
