if you have the dryers with the handle to turn to drop the qtr all you need is a paper clip bent in the correct way and insert it into coin slot and turn handle to add time . I knew about that trick back in 1974 .

No straws in my machines, card system. I do get those who try to insert a penny or dime into the card reader though. No free washes, but causes machine to not accept cards at all, preventing anyone from using the machine. Preventing others from doing their wash is almost like getting a free wash IMO.

Which card system do you have? My card readers will let coins just be pushed through and doesn't effect the card reader.

I have the ESD cards (Cyberwash) Only pennys & dimes fit in the slot and both jam.

Yesterday I was emptying out quarters out of my top loads with ESD coin slides. As I was going through the vaults I noticed two small folded up heavy paper and I thought how did that get in there? As I was going through the audit of quarters I noticed 2 nickles mixed in with the quarters. It then became apparent I have been hit with this trick.
Sure someone saved .20 cents for each nickle inserted. However the amount of time it must have taken, unless the person was real good I wonder if it was worth his time.
It will be interesting to see if I get this happen again.
I will have to check the cameras to find out who.
