Have a trough system and have been told two outlooks as far as the drains for the troughs.

1)Don’t cover the 2 and 4 inch drain pipes with screens as they will clog easily and overflow. Let the lint go down the drain with the water.

2)Cover the drains with some kind of screen or large filter such as chicken wire to screen things from going down drain.

New to business so would appreciate an experts option.

Thank you

A screen will clog up quickly, and you'll have floods. I use a wire "drain thing" that I think is used for keeping leaves from going down guttters. I screw it on to a piece of 1x2 so I don't need to bend down to get it. It needs cleaned off every couple days. If no one cleans it off for a while, the lint will build up around it and won't allow the water to drain....and you know what happens next. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
