The ink was hardly dry on the article in the local newspaper (http://www.planetlaundry.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5478) about my new laundry, and the owner of the competition (sort of) across town called and asked if I was still interested in buying his mat now that I was building new. He was willing to come off my original offer price, so we went for it. Now it looks like I'll close on our second store before construction is finished on the first one in the area!

Besides Craigslist and the Classifieds here, does anyone have a good way to get rid of any old equipment we pull out while rehabbing the place? Some of the equipment is seriously old (1962 era Huebsch propane single dryers) and some is relatively new (2006 era Whirlpool tops). I'm not entirely sure we'll do a major overhaul just yet, but I'm trying to figure out what to do with this stuff to try and re-capture some value if and when we do upgrade.

Not counting the 2 mats that are about to go out of business, I'm half-way to cornering the local laundry market! At the very least, I suddenly got rather busy in my quest for world domination...

It would be helpful if we knew what State you were in, this way the local mat owners on this forum might be able to purchase from you.

Whoops, sorry. I assumed the location display was "ON" by default. I forgot you have to enter it after the probation period is over in this version of vBulletin.

Local mat owners? Not too many of those around here. The Southern Oregon coast is generally considered "rural"...

Also please note, I'm not trying to sneak in an unpaid/unapproved classified ad... I'm not sure any of the equipment will be for sale just yet, but as this month has proven, when things happen, they happen fast! ;-)
