can anyone tell me exactly how much water(gallons) a wascomat 124 uses per turn?

Hi,
Working from the outer tub size in cubic inches converted into U.S. gallons x % volume filled X # of cycles (pre-wash,
wash + 3 rinses) I end up with a total of 25 U.S. Gallons.
Based on a water level 2 inches into the glass-any more and you shorten the life of that big front bearing (wash-out).
Hope this helps!

25 gallons seems real low for a 35lb machine. I always went by 1.5 gallons per poundage of machine. Therefore a 35lb machine would use about 52.5 gallons of water. I checked the owners manual of my Maytag 35lb machine and depending on the cycle selected, the washer will use any where from 40 to 48 gallons with no load. An additional .25 gallons per pound of clothes (as a rule of thumb) will add about 8.75 gallons bringing up the usage to 48.75 to 56.75 gallons per load. My estimate of 52.5 puts it in about the middle.

It also depends on type of clothing being washed and how much is absorbed and how much is spun out during rinse cycles. The more the clothing holds during spin cycles the less is needed to refill for each rinse.

In comparison, my 18 lb high efficiency Maytag Neptunes uses about 15 gallons of water per cycle.

I assume when the manufacturers figure the gallons of water used per cycle is based on running the washer with nothing in it. It seems to me that since the water levels are controlled by a pressure switch, that the gallons used per cycle would greatly depend on what is being washed???

yes I suppose you could be right mike. From what I was told from my dealer is that the triple I have W123 uses approximatly 48 gallons per cycle.
