I bet you have Dexter stack dryers. They are worst when it comes to lint on the roof.

Dexter makes a finer mesh lint screen that is supposed to help with the lint.
Raising the exhaust will also help with your lint problem.

That CAMF, Jeff Lange is right there. I've got 17 year old SQ slimlines on one side of the laundry, never a spec of lint on the roof. On the other side, 2 year old Dexter stacks covered the roof in a day with a truck load of lint. I raised the exhaust pipes to 4' from the top of the roof and turned the down spouts a little to the side and don;t really have anymore trouble. It's amazing how much lint gets through, though.

Should fresh air retuns be higher then exhaust?

If the lint is getting past the screen, that may explain why when I had soooo many motor problems with Dexter dryers when I had them in 2 stores. I had 4 spare motors for those dryers as they were always at the motor shop. I am very thankful that I don't have Dexter dryers anymore. They can say what they want about airflow and BTU's, but I'm totally happy with Heubsch and ADC for the last 8 years. Less repairs in 8 years on them, than the amount of repairs the Dexters would give in just one year.
