Why not consider Wascomat as well- IMHO it is the best machine around!

I went with the Dexter 40#, My Matag rep actually reccomended it over the Maytag 35. I have been happy with the Dexter machines. They sure look like they are built well.

Dave,

What is your equipment mix/brands now? I'd prefer to stay with the same manufacturer of what I have inhouse already.

My current mix is a hodge-podge. I just purchased the dry cleaner / laundromat 2 months ago. It is the only laundromat in a town of 15,000. All of the equipment is 15+ years old. It currently does 140k/year. I know that if I don't start investing in new equipment, someone will open a new one and put me out of business. I am making a big decision regarding brand. I am looking to replace a majority of the equip in the next 3 years. I want to stick w/one brand. I am going to start w/ #35 pound washers and #50 pound dryers.

Please tell me more about the maytag rep which recommended dexter. What was his rationale?

My rep cares both. He said they both have pros and cons. Maytag has better computer, has countdown feature, and good name. Dexter is a little cheaper, a little larger and appears to be a good machine...

The rep kinda felt at the time that tme 35# machine was having a few computer problems and felt the dexter was a better choice for me. The Dexter is also 5pds larger and that is an advertizing plus. They do count down on remaining time. The other plus for me is that they are made in the USA I think the Maytag is made overseas. How much are they telling you the Dexter is? If your not comfortable posting it please e-mail me direct. I will be buying 3 more very soon so I would like to compare.

I have had Maytag major repair work. Now I have Wascomat some are 15 ys. old and working fine. People dont care about count down tiners or the fancy computer boards they just want to wash and leave. In business it is not what you pay for equiptment that counts it's what you can make from it that is inpoetant. Wascomats work. P.S. no I am nod a dealer. Paul
