Did someone get prune-happy?

I'm looking for a few fairly recent threads, but none of the sub-forums go back more than a few pages..

EDIT: there is a "default thread age display cutoff" in the user options of vBulletin that I had forgotten about. My personal settings now override the "use forum default" setting and I can see all threads.

As an aside, shouldn't the "forum default" be to display all threads? I can't think of a good reason to prune the display by default....

You're right. The default should allow for max viewing. It would help to minimize the number of repeat questions asked by those interested in getting started...I think.

It seems like the show all preference applies to search results as well... A search for "P.O.S." or "point of sale" yielded relatively little when I was set to default, but gives quite a bit more (albeit OLDER) with show all selected...
