I know I'm going to get a lot of comments on this one. We were looking at our surveillance video and saw 2 women wash there hair, brush their teeth and then actually get into our sink and take a bath. One would keep a lookout to make sure no one pulled up. One was between 18-21 and the other was around 50, could have been mom and daughter. The only good thing was that they actually did their laundry. Has anyone had that happen before? We do have signs stating that we have surveillance cameras and you can see the cameras. They must have thought they were fake and not have water at their house. I think we are going to put up a sign by the sink that says to not use for a bath. Any other suggestions?

You'll have that from time to time. I've seen everything from some one taking their clothes off in the bathroom, while some one else washes them, to people taking baths in the bathroom, people filling buckets of water to wash their cars in the parking lot, people washing dogs in my sink, the list goes on.

One of the better pieces of advice I got starting up was if I'm going to be unattended for even a few hours, don't install a sink in the open area of the store...
I have a sink and toilet in the restroom, but it's card locked and requires an active account to enter. Then the homeless moved in after collecting enough bottle deposits to buy a card. Now I auto-disable the card reader on the bathroom at night... Keeps the bums out nicely. Another operator suggested instead of disabling the card reader, I should raise the vend price on the restroom from zero to $50 or $100 during nighttime hours... That way, if someone REALLY wants to take a bath or cook rice or get naked or whatever, they may... But at least I'll make enough gravy profit to cover the cleaning!
I set up all of my stores to be unattended 24-hour operations... That means no soaking sink or tops, tight security, shear walls, etc... Gives me MUCH flexibility no matter how i choose to run the business.

I would ask the 50 year old not to bathe in my sink. I would ask the 20 year old when she would back so I could watch and help her with her bath.

How did you get a liquor license for your laundromat??? Isn't that type of show usually paired up with a two-drink minimum?

I've had bums, actually take their clothes off and sit in the store naked while they washed and dried them, put their clothes back on when done and walk out.
On more than one occasion...

Did this happen when you were there or did your surveillance camera record it?

This happened way before I had surveillance cameras. Around the late 80's. Back in the days when the city was out of control....before Rudy Guliani was mayor. He really cleaned it all up.
I wasn't there, but my attendants told me about these incidents.

Guys,
I once had a circus lion get a bath in one of my self-serve car wash bays. Does that count?
