View Full Version : Dryer Drum Damage
I am having a problem with dryer drum damage, someone is
damaging the drums to. It looks like a wire cutter has been used to cut the drum. Is there a good way to repair the drum?
Thanks

This happened top me on a dryer that was about 3 months old, someone cut a 4" hole out of the drum, presumably to get money or a stuck item. Lucky they left the piece of basket behind. I was able to solder it back in place. That was 3 years ago, it still looks good. Another time I bought a mat, a basket had some big hole in it, I got some thin strip of metal and rivited it to the hole in the drum. Not so nice looking, but not to bad either. That dryer was old to begin with.
Also, E-Z way sells a basket repair kit. Find thier ad in the Journal.

That stinks. Why people do these things...maybe they were thinking they could get to the coinbox or something.
I don't really know the answer to your question. For some reason I think there may be a metal tape you could try. Maybe ask at the Home Depot or better yet, another hardware store where they have a little more training and specific knowledge
Pete or anyone - Would it be possible for someone to get me the number for E-Z way. I do not have access to the journal and when I searched the internet ... Lets just say there is an EZ Way of doing just about everything.

This may sound like a stupid question, but what brand of dryer was it?
