I would tend to think a dryer that old could be replaced with a 30lb stack dryer and be paid for by the savings alone in gas usage due to the higher efficiency of newer models.

With new you get:

better efficiency
warranty
double the pockets
easy access to parts
better looking
easier to change drying times and temps
customer satisfaction

With old you get:

25 year old dryers.....

Duane yes you are right but when you are working with a budget you take what you can get I have the new wascomat 30 30lb staked dryers at another location yes new work excellent but these adc dryers are in really good shape just need the electonic control panels and a new drum I see if you get good air flow the machines new or really old work fine. I use a huge shop vac rigid brand works incredibly well for sucking all the the lint out of my dryers I have some huebshe and speed queen dryer that are 40 and 50 yr old that work great we just give them a nice white paint job then they look like new HA HA HA. But Ido realize the effecienceis of new but the mats got to make some money or show some improvement then is the time for new machines maby 3 or 4 staked dryers within the year.

Just wondering what the actual price comparison is? Are you talking $4000 new versus $1000 for the used or more than that. Often in this forum we are talking about things without knowing the actual numbers. Maybe these used units are only $500 bucks......

Even at a cost of $0. The new dryers would still pay for themselves over time.

Even at $500 a piece, it would take $4000 to buy eight dryers. At the same cost, you could have one new stack unit with two pockets. So over all the cost of the old dryers are about %25 cost of new.

I am sorry maybe I was not clear I wanted to know if anybody had problems or know where to get parts for the ADC dryers that you could recomend the main control panel and drums they are 1979 model 30lb machine with digital controls that flash fill done start button.
I know new is the way to go but will have to make due for now.
Also is not high vollume like most of U.S.A. stores is small 1300sq ft canadian mat.

Try contacting laundryparts.com. They are located here in the states so shipping may be higher. But they have GREAT customer service and really low prices.
