I originally thought about offering this service, but decided not to due to the extra clean up needed when they use the microwave, the cost of the vending unit, the extra time needed to stock another machine and the cost of a freezer to hold your product until needed to put into the vending machine.

You should also check with your local health dept and see if there are any licenses or permits needed to offer this service.

Also check with your insurance company to see if they have any objections.

You may think about Ice Cream machine from Fastcorp or AP. We own a vending co and have found that Ice cream sells well in a laundrymat . No special permits are needed in my state

Neal,

What type of equipment do you operate?

Also are you in or thinking about entering the coin laundry business?

There is already enough food walked in by customers and so clean-up is double duty. We decided to
survey our customers because many laundromats in our area sold dogs, burgers, cheese fries and
tacos. Our customers voted overwhelmingly "no" to us selling this stuff. Many comments were they
came here to wash clothes versus eat out OR they were concerned about bugs. Without selling food
we'll never know the upside to this idea. Because there was so much downside to the idea of selling
food, it was easy for us to say no to the idea. Besides, we have several places people can go within
walking distance to get most foods. At one of our locations there is a big snowball/ice cream store.
We offer free coffee and cookies which customers like/appreciate. They requested we carry honey
buns in our vending machines which we do and it's a big seller for us. SAM's club has vending machines
that can handle these food products or you can do a search on "food vending machines" on the Internet.
