I read about someone doing horse blankets in their mat.
Would you re-post or steer me again to your info. We're about to offer that and would like to know about any unique requirements.

If your market is large in the horse industry the horse blanket biz can be very profitable, but be well aware your regular customers will frown upon the biz. You will want to control the laundering of these types of items. It is a profitable biz if you have a service. If you do, have certain requirements in place. Demand the blankets be brought in debris free and bagged and tied to eliminate orders in your mat, charge a decent price to recover the cost that you will have to provide by rewashing the washer after use. In the southeast we charged between 1-1.25 per pound. Price was never an issue. Charge a good return, that will be worth the hassle . Your regs will not appreciate using a washer right behind a horse blanket, but they will appreciate knowing you rewash the washer fully after each use. Horse blankets are heavy and the revenue had been substantial at my last count. Last summer we grossed over 3k and more likely netted at a higher margin as a large percentage chose not to dry. But we still charged the same, cause the washer is what took the toll of the debris of hair and yuck. The dryers tended to get hooked by the clips of the pads but overall the business is profitable enough to try and capitalize and retain it. Good luck

Horse blankets will make a mess of your washers. I've had people do them and it usually takes two or three complete washes to get all the hair out of the machine. If you don't run those cycles empty then it will get all over other's clothing. Profitable business yes, but you will loose many other customers if you are not very careful.

Thanks for your replies. Could you be more specific about your charges, what machines you use, detergents?
