Hello:
I am in the process of doing my due diligence on an existing mat and was wondering if it is worth it for me to have an agency perform a demographic study of the area. The store I am interested in was established in 1990 and gross about $120K/year, including coin-op, WDF, Dry Cln Drp Off, and other services.
Thanks!

Search this forum for the word Demographics and you will find other discussions on the subject.
Use the Search option at the top of the forum, and make sure you change the one option to "all posts" instead of the default.
Do other searches and you will find a lot of information here.

Find that not many people will recommend someone do a survey. My question would be how
much is the survey and how experienced is the company in question? Being established in 1990
a dem study may not be necessary. Seems like what is needed is verification of biz income, etc.

I agree with millen-plus if the mat has been around for awhile a demo survey is just intersting reading, The only use would be to know what the demo is of that store when looking at another location for a new store and use the proven demo-revenue known. Skip the expense.

The only thing I would like to see from a Demo report is the change of rentals between the last two census and the project for the next 5 years.
Not critical, but a nice to know fact.
