I was surfing the net and came across this picture on a site that advertises mobile service but no location listed. Just curious where they lifted this picture from. They are local to my area and I know a laundromat like this doesn't exist.

Jeff,

Hmmmm ... all Maytag equipment. The picture was taken just before Christmas ... probably in preparation for a Grand Opening. From what I can see, the layout is not to my liking but I'm sure Mr Distributor just loved it as it certainly maximizes his commission. Wherever it is, it's likely to change owners every couple of years.

Is this because there's too much equipment and no room to expand bit by bit to see what works?

Larry,

I agree....a lot of equipment in that store. A classic distributor built store.

The isles are too narrow for such a big store, and the machine sizes could be broken up more.
If a customer uses 2 toploaders, 2 doubles, and 2 giants, he will get a lot of exercise walking around those platforms, lol.

Suzy,

I don't like the lack of folding tables near all those stacked dryers. Basically, what I'm seeing on that one picture is too much space devoted to equipment and not enough space devoted to customer movement, seating and tables.

Other than that, I wouldn't want to judge too harshly based on just one photo.:)

LOL, still didn't really answer my question. I like when ppl jack promo pictures and pass them off as their own business'. If I had a store this big I'd want customers in it which means posting my address.

Here ya go. Looks like the Toronto area.

Must be their home. Looks to be a residential area from the Google Satellite view. Probably doing it out of their house.

Maybe this is that special delivery van with the laundry basket on the back in the driveway. :D

Every now and then, someone tries to pull that "laundry service from their home" crap here in NYC. I report them right away. Why should we have to pay huge overhead, taxes, regulations, etc, when someone just comes along and undercuts by illegally working out of their homes?
I've even seen this with apartments where someone will put flyers in their own apartment house offering to do laundry for the other residents for a fee.
I always report them, as we all should to protect from this leeching.

Jeff-

It all goes back to the Computers 101 course we all should have taken... never Never NEVER put anything into a computer you wouldn't want to see on the 6:00 news.

Anyone remember the Webchat Broadcasting System (WBS)? No? Excellent!
