We have never had a TV in our Laundromat. I am thinking that the only way it will help us is if it is large enough --- a minimum of 47" & possibly larger if I can find a pretty good deal on one.

As management, we plan on being only ones selecting our specific programming preferences initially ---- but since someone is here almost all the time we would accommodate requests as much as possible. Eventually I plan on making our pay to use Internet Kiosk have the ability to override --- so those particular paying customers would have more priority. Internet TV seems to be improving significantly lately which is a consideration.

Any suggestions or considerations from operators with more experience with laundromats with large TVs. I am thinking that eventually I will hook up strategically placed speakers but initially just use the TV speakers. The farthest distance would be under 50 feet.

I was always hesitant at putting TV's in my laundromat but I came around and put in a couple CRT TV's over 5 years ago. Never looked back and customers appreciate them. We generally keep it on the Local 24 hour news channel but we take requests for Cartoons, Oprah, Cornation St and so forth. If we change the 2 TV's to different channels then we lower the volume on both so they don't compete, if they are on the same channel we keep the volume at a level that can be heard from anywhere in the store. Both TV's are at either end of the store.

I've been considering switching over to flat panels shortly as my TV's are losing their picture qaulity. You have to decide if you want a customer on one end of the store to watch the TV on the opposite side or are you going to place multiple TV's meaning you can go smaller in size.
