What do you recommend for polishing stainless steel? I have dryers that are collecting finger prints and also have a few washers that are developing a water line below the bottom of the door. I'm sure there are specialty sprays but is there a more economical alternative?
thanks in advance.

I have found WD40 to be the best agent to keep SS clean. I do all my machines every week. The SS stays clean and does not show not show finger marks quite as easy.

Try mineral oil it's non toxic and cheap at your local feed store.

I tried everything. The best I found is go to a marine supply store and buy some marine stainless steel wax or polish. It does work well for longer periods of time than the other stuff. Plus it will take out little rust marks. And does keep the finger prints down, unlike oils that collect them. It is not to hard to put on like sheila shine is.

I use a product called shelia shine. You can get it at any janitorial supply store. It really takes the finger prints and grease off and leaves a nice luster. The surface must be completetly dry and there are somethings that it will not remove. I buy it by the gallon can and put it in a spray bottle, but you can buy it in an aerosol too. We clean all our machines everyday with Shelia Shine.

I used to get a product from janitorial supply house called MAJESTIC SS polish. It had a purple label and came in aerosol that did not spray good, but also you could buy in gallons for trigger sprayers. The place I got it from stopped handling it so now I use pure lemon oil.
